Since the Apple TV does not have a built-in camera, how does that work? The answer is that Apple’s Continuity Camera functions work alongside the iPad or iPhone.
Based on Zoom’s user-friendly Meetings technology, the new Apple TV 4K app offers polished, high-definition video and audio experiences for home usage.
Use the Continuity Camera feature in tvOS 17; the app allows for a wireless connection between the camera and microphone of an iPhone or iPad and an Apple TV 4K.
It will enable it to deliver Zoom Meeting audio and video and display other meeting participants on the TV.
On Thursday, 07 Dec 2023, Zoom announced the official press release of the new app specifically for Apple TV 4K. That will enable users to join Zoom Meetings from the biggest screen in the home.
“We are committed to providing best-in-class hybrid work experiences with the best technology, and with Apple TV 4K, it’s easier than ever for users to connect with Continuity Camera,” said Jeff Smith, head of product for Meetings and Spaces at Zoom.
“People have different work preferences and need to have the flexibility to connect with colleagues and customers from anywhere and from any device. With the new Zoom app, more people will have access to a professional, high-quality Zoom Meetings experience from the comfort of their own home.”
You use the mobile device’s camera when paired with the Apple TV apps to take part in calls.
You can hold your iPhone to handle audio and video or place it on a stand in front of your television to make it feel more natural.
The app claims that to make it work, users would need a second-generation Apple TV 4K or later and that the iPhone and iPad’s Continuity Camera is required.

The app also promotes connectivity, allowing users to meet via devices such as Windows or Mac PCs, mobile phones and tablets, Zoom Rooms, classic conference room systems, and telephones.
Along with experiences for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and CarPlay, Zoom’s innovation in the Apple ecosystem is further expanded with the release of the new Zoom app on Apple TV 4K.
Zoom users can watch in-meeting chat, start or join meetings with real-time video and audio, and invite colleagues and friends to conversations via the Apple TV app.
According to AppleInsider, the app functions similarly to FaceTime on the Apple TV.
It includes a calendar integration and allows users to be assigned to a breakout room.
Users can now download the Zoom app for free in the App Store on Apple TV.
