Temperatures are dropping in many parts of the world, particularly in North America, Europe and some parts of Asia.

It is almost difficult for us to survive in the inexhaustible weather. We must always ensure that our body stays warm, whether inside or outside.

Your iPhone may also lag because its battery cannot maintain sufficient performance.

The sudden depletion or reduction of your battery life is one of the most obvious signs that something’s wrong.

It means your phone’s extremely cold, and the battery is malfunctioning.

There are chances that the iPhone will shut down entirely if you are facing an extreme situation.

Tech giant Apple issues warning to protect and use the iPhone in subzero temperatures.

WHAT APPLE RECOMMENDS PROTECTING YOUR PHONE IN THE SUBZERO TEMPERATURE

If you want to protect your iPhone in the subzero temperature then you’ll need to review the steps carefully.

HOW TO PROTECT THE BATTERY OF YOUR IPHONE

The sudden decrease in your battery’s life is one of the most obvious signs you are missing something. That means that the battery on your iPhone is deficient; it’s no longer working correctly.

Your iPhone may also be slowing because the battery cannot keep up with your high-performance level. Your iPhone may be switched off entirely in extreme cases.

Apple advises using your iPhone in ambient temperatures no lower than 32F/0C.

It’s good to know that battery issues related to colder weather are not a permanent problem with the iPhone.

“Using an iOS or iPadOS device in very cold conditions outside of its operating range might temporarily shorten battery life and could cause your device to turn off,” Apple explains.

When the battery is at a regular temperature, its performance will return to normal. However, the battery life of an iPhone can be permanently shortened by a high temperature.

Apple’s warning against using your phone at temperatures below -4C.

WHAT’S COMPLETELY FORBIDDEN WITH THE IPHONE

It needs to be warmed up for the iPhone to function again.

However, the source of heat should not immediately be applied to it. Apple’s warning to never use an external source of heat when restarting your iPhone, no matter how cold or wet it is.

Instead, the company recommends moving your phone to a warmer place. You can bring this inside, for instance, and place it in an inner pocket of your jacket.

“iOS and iPadOS devices have built-in protections to prevent overheating. If the interior temperature of your device exceeds the normal operating range, your device will protect its internal components by attempting to regulate its temperature.” it further explains.

You should not use a hair dryer or heater to heat your phone under any conditions, as it could be irretrievably damaged.
