Proton Drive rolled out a new photo backup feature on its Android app on Thursday, 7 Dec, 2023, and it will be available to everyone in a matter of days.
It instantly and seamlessly syncs photos to the encrypted Proton cloud storage account from an Android device. That means photos and necessary metadata are end-to-end encrypted by default.

One can also turn off other photo gallery synchronisation to preserve your privacy and free up space in your Google Account.
After successfully backing up the personal images and video files, Proton Drive makes viewing and exploring them simple.
They are neatly organised on the new ‘Photos’ tab, presented in a user-friendly grid style, and classified by the date they were taken, with months clearly distinguished.
One (the user) may easily pick, download, or delete any photographs and videos from this page.
The user may examine a wide range of file types in the app, including panoramas, portraits, and timelapse videos.
EASY PHOTO BROWSING AND PREVIEW
After successfully backing up image and video files, Proton Drive makes viewing and exploring them simple.
