Smartphones have become an integral part of our daily lives. We use different apps for almost everything, and it’s worth noting that many of them can take control of our camera and microphone.
If you’ve granted an app permission, it could potentially expose a lot of your personal information through the camera or microphone.
According to Google, if you disable the voice and audio activity settings on your phone, your voice inputs won’t be stored in your Google account.
Google regularly launches different features aimed at users, some of which are centred around data and privacy. With these, Google can easily gather audio from your activity on apps and the web.
While Google claims this is to improve command recognition and marketing, many believe it still infringes on privacy.
To fix this issue, go to the settings of your Android device or tablet and look for the Google Account.
From there, select Data & Privacy, then navigate to History Settings and click on Web and App Activity.
You’ll find a checkbox for Voice and Audio Activity in that area. Be sure to keep it unchecked.
